St. Florian’s Brewing Company is driving a collection effort to help those devastated by the Lake County wildfire. ‘Fill the boot’ is a firefighter tradition of filling a fire boot with cash for donation to charity. In addition to filling a boot, St. Florian’s will donate a large percentage of today’s profits.

The brewery, located at 7704A Bell Rd. in Windsor, is asking you to help by purchasing a beer or two and adding a donation to their efforts. St. Florian is regarded as a patron of firemen. Many consider the saint a powerful protector in danger from fire or water. The brewery pays homage to the men and women that bravely rush in to put out the fire when everyone else is rushing out.

As of 7:55AM this morning, Press Democrat reporters Randi Rossmann and Paul Payne reported that “Lake County’s latest wildfire – now at more than 40,000 acres – leveled numerous rural communities as well as much of Middletown and moved on through the night into Napa and Sonoma counties”
