Get your stretchy pants and designated driver ready for this upcoming weekend, because Sonoma County will have two of the most popular beer festivals happening on the same weekend.

This Saturday, August 15th Stumptown Brewery will host the 13th Annual Russian River Beer Revival & BBQ Cook-off. The very next day, Lagunitas Brewing Company will take over the Petaluma Fairgrounds with their annual Lagunitas Beer Circus.

Stumptown’s Russian River Beer Revival will take place at 15045 River Road in Guerneville. The gates will open at noon, with beer tasting taking place between 1pm and 5pm. The entry fee ($75) includes unlimited beer, cider, BBQ tastings, and live music from The Bad Apples and Franky Boots and the County Line. The tag line is “if you can’t have fun at this one …you can’t have fun.” For the full list of 30+ breweries and 30 BBQ teams click here.

In past years the Lagunitas Beer Circus took place at the brewery in Petaluma. The Lagunitas website shared the following message a few weeks ago; “To help accommodate the outpouring of support and the ticket inquiries, we are moving the Beer Circus to THE PETALUMA FAIRGROUNDS!!!” Even the Petaluma Fairgrounds, located at 175 Fairgrounds Drive in Petaluma, wasn’t big enough to allow everyone interested a ticket. The event has officially sold out.

Price of admission for the Beer Circus is $40 and includes the opportunity to “see all the things they cannot unsee.” Music, burlesque and other freaky entertainment along with a souvenir cup and four tokens for beer samples from Lagunitas or guest breweries are included. For more details, click here.

With both popular events already sold out, we will do our best to cover each festival and provide a recap capturing the spirit of each. Keep a lookout for the follow up blog in the coming days. I’ll be out there snapping some pictures to share with you.
