A home brewer’s dream is to someday make a batch of beer that they can share with the masses. Taps Beer Co. & Kitchen, 101 North Brewing Company and Petaluma Downtown Association are coming together to host a home brewer’s competition to make that dream a reality for one lucky person.

The Sonoma County Home Brewer’s Competition will be Petaluma’s first home brewer’s competition judged by consumers. Attendees of this inaugural event will be asked to vote for their favorite brews. The ten most popular brews will then be submitted to a panel of judges who will crown a winner. The winning candidate will then receive the opportunity to brew their winning recipe at 101 North Brewing Company with Brewmaster Joel Johnson, and have it distributed throughout Sonoma County.

This first year festival will take place on Saturday, May 23rd between 11am and 4pm at the Petaluma Veterans Memorial Building located at 1094 Petaluma Blvd. South in Petaluma.

The $25 cost of admission will get you a commemorative glass and twenty 2 ounce pours. Tickets may be purchased online at brownpapertickets.com or in person by going to the Petaluma Visitors Center at 210 Lakeville St. Beer games and music by the Dixie Giants will be a part of the event as well as food at an additional cost.
