A digest about that other famous beverage

Beer for the next generation?

The sale this week of Kansas City standout Boulevard to a Belgian firm (no worries, purists – this Belgian firm is Duvel, not InBev) has raised once more the question of what happens next for the early generation of breweries who led the craft beer revolution in the 1980s and ’90s. Sonoma County homebrewer gets national exposure

Sonoma County homebrewer Greg Haas is getting some attention for his “Bodega Bay Fog” recipe lately after San Leandro-based Williams Brewing, a well-known homebrew supply house, included it its “Customer Recipe Issue” of its seasonal catalog. Organizers haven’t posted a complete lineup, but Lagunitas, New Belgium, Newcastle, and Anchor will definitely be on… Read More »

Windsor’s St. Florian’s Brewery is marking its six month anniversary with a new brew, its California Common (what would otherwise be known as a “Steam Beer” had Anchor not long ago trademarked the name). Co-owner Amy Levin says the beer should start hitting the shelves in the region in the next 24 hours – and she would know too, since she not only does the marketing and books, but she drives the beer to the stores and bars herself. This… Read More »
