There are two great-sounding tasting events tomorrow night in the area, so take your pick – or make both if you’re very determined.

In Santa Rosa, Rincon Valley Wine and Beer will continue its local brewery month series with tastings from Drake’s Brewing from 5-8 p.m. NorCal sales rep Doug Ashcraft will be on hand to talk about the beers and discuss the brewery’s holiday release lineup. $10 gets you a Drake’s pint glass to keep, filled with the new Exxpedition imperial red, and a 4 oz sample of Bourbon Barrel Aged Drakonic. And don’t forget that next up for Rincon Valley is a tasting with cult favorite Heretic on Oct. 19. For details on their tastings program, call 595-5516.

Down in Petaluma also on Thursday, meanwhile, Taps and Brewed for Thought will be hosting a tasting with former Sonoma County homebrewer Alan Atha, now brewer at Marin County’s Baeltane Brewing. He’ll show off his brews and talk about the transition from home to pro. That tasting starts at 6 p.m. at Taps. For info, call 763-6700.
