I am told that the Calistoga Inn, closed for nearly a year because of fire damage, has reopened its restaurant and brewery, a day ahead of the owners’ target of Aug. 5. Actually, I hear they did a soft opening Friday night, but the point is that fresh beer is flowing again Upvalley in Napa County for the first time in ages. They had reopened the hotel side in July, but it took an extra month to finish the extensive renovation of the kitchen. The brewhouse wasn’t damaged in the fire, but they took the opportunity to spiff it up a bit and add some new equipment.

I’m hoping to go scout the scene this afternoon, or tomorrow afternoon.
