101 North Brewing Company launched in 2012 and has since developed a strong following amongst craft beer enthusiasts in northern California. Three of their beers will now be available for purchase at all Safeway stores in Sonoma and Napa counties by Spring. As of January 1st of this year 101 North’s Heroine IPA, Golden Naked Ale and a rotating seasonal beer will be available at Petaluma, Healdsburg and Napa Safeway stores.

In the last two years 101 North has made its way to many independently owned bottle shops and taprooms in Sonoma County. The move into Safeway stores is a sign of the great amount of growth and success that the group of friends that started the business have experienced.

Three brothers named Joel, Jake and Joe Johnson along with lifelong friends John Brainin, John Lilienthal and Anthony Turner work to set the brand apart in what is becoming a large amount of breweries now bottling and vying for shelf space. John Lilienthal, Regional Sales Manager and Partner, credits a high quality product, offbeat ale names, graphics and pride for Sonoma County roots for the success.

“We are beyond excited to offer 101 North on the shelves of Safeway. This opportunity allows us to introduce ourselves to a whole new audience. The fact that we have developed such an incredible following in a short amount of time really speaks to the caliber of our product. 20 years ago we dreamed of creating an awesome brewery and have turned that into a reality,” said Lilienthal.

Look for 101 North to make it to a shelf near you soon.
