This Thursday, November 20th, Warped Brewing Company will be celebrating their one year anniversary with a chili cookoff and the release of a brand new beer named ‘Clear the Flag’. The fee to taste and vote on the winner of the cookoff will be just $5.

Warped Brewing is a 10 barrel brewery located in The Barlow at 6790 McKinley St. Suite 190 in Sebastopol. Noah Bolmer, owner, started production last November then opened the classic video game themed tasting room in February.

Walking into the tasting room excited the little kid inside of me that grew up playing video games. Everywhere you turn you see 80s and 90s video game swag and playable arcade games. Instead of handing you a beer and a coaster, you will receive a beer and a floppy disk to set your pint glass on.

“My brewing philosophy is informed by the pixelated, imaginative gaming scene of the era; restraint is an important ingredient, as is balance and fun. This is beer; if you aren’t smiling while you drink it, you’re doing it wrong, or I’m brewing it wrong,” said Bolmer.

Noah can be found checking in on Barley and Hops Tavern located in Occidental, which he also owns. In addition, Noah hosts an hour long podcast, ‘Bottom of the Bottle.’ As busy as he may be, all the beer at Warped is brewed by Noah and his trusty assistant brewer, Mark LaGris.
