Sometimes it’s ok to be in sour mood. Provided the sour in question is beer.

Rincon Valley Beer and Wine, at 4927 Sonoma Highway (though the easiest entrance is on Middle Rincon Road)  is having a sour tasting on Saturday, March 29, from 2-9 p.m.

“We managed to get some Cantillon Fou’ Foune which will make this an amazing event. It will be poured with Timmermans Geuze and another sour TBD for the international flight,” co-owner Renee Reynolds tells me.

Domestically, they’ll be pouring Dogpatch, a barrel-aged wild ale, from Almanac Beer down in San Francisco, the new brewery  that’s wowing the craft beer world with their farm-to-glass and barrel-aged brews. They’ll also Red Poppy from cult brewery Lost Abbey, and at least one other American sour.

Renee says they have expanded to eight taps since they opened the store and tasting room last year, so they can offer even more unusual beers to try.
