You’d think the color of the day would be green, being St. Patrick’s Day and all, but here in the newsroom, you’d be wrong. It’s red. As in Red In The Face, ’cause somewhere in the process of making papers, someone accidentally wrote that Murphy’s Irish Pub in Sonoma was charging $30 for its annual St. Patrick’s Day festivities today.

And it isn’t. In fact, it isn’t charging anything. No cover charge. F-R-E-E.

So if you’re tempted to celebrate St. Patrick (safely, please), the party has already begun, complete with music, beer, and Irish food, at 464 1st St E.

Here’s the music lineup:

  • Sweet Penny Royals (traditional Irish) at 3 p.m.
  • Irish dancers at 4:30 p.m.
  • Bagpipes at 5:15 p.m.
  • The Gentleman Soldiers at 5:30 p.m.
  • The Jami Jamison band at 7:30 p.m.

While most of the St. Patrick’s Day hijinks seem to have been over the weekend, here are some other ideas for today if you aren’t in the range of Sonoma.
