Sonoma County’s newest brewery, Fogbelt, will have its official debut on Thursday at Heritage Public House in Santa Rosa from 5-7:30 p.m. Owners Remy Martin and Paul Hawley will be on hand to chat and answer questions as the bar pours the Hyperion Red Ale and Lost Monarch Wit.

Fogbelt has been informally testing its new taproom, at 1305 Cleveland Ave., over the last few weeks, Paul tells me, but they expect to be open to the public during the upcoming San Francisco Beer Week, with the grand opening party on Feb. 15.

“We have four beers on tap so far: Fresh Hop Saison, Lost Monarch Wit (brewed with kaffir lime and coriander leaf), Hyperion Red Ale, Del Norte IPA,” Paul writes. “The Stout and Blonde are on the way … Our kitchen will be serving up small plates and grilled panini.”

“We named our beers after famous redwood trees (Hyperion is the current tallest tree in the world),” he explained.
